The genesis of Trump.

It is no surprise that America wants reality T.V. for politics, at least to the panelists for today's blog post. This blog post is simply a video to watch a prescient panel in a 2008 . It is rather chilling to watch,  especially Hitchen's glass-of-cold-water-in-your-face warning about the totalitarian path that a demagogue like Trump will lead us down.

The video is quite fun and funny...an educational fun if you have 45 minutes to watch. The setting is 2008 after Obama clinched the Democratic nomination. The panels predication by description of what new media means is spot on in predicting a Trump candidacy. Trump may be a first, but I guarantee you what he represents has a new norm written all over it. Below are some quotes:
  • "Youtube video needs to be shocking to get viewed." - Trump is shocking.
  • "Celebrity status gets you far these days." - Trump is his own celebrity.
  • "Presidential candidates should start hanging out with Linsday Lohan just for the media attention." - Trump is hanging out with himself.
Trump is his own celebrity, but there was a rumor floating around in June that Trump would invite celebrity Sarah Palin to be his running mate. At this point I would say Palin's tragic media attention is on par with what Lindsay Lohan was back in 2008. Although Trump would be better off picking Kim Khardashian as his running mate, or at least appointing her as his spokesperson.

Irreni Manages Bad Reasoning

Bad Reasoning Bad reasoning. We all have it and do it. Some of us more than others. How many times have we heard the average person doesn't understand finances? And yet everyone is expected to have their retirement invested? What kind of mad world is this? We demand financial savvy where none exists? It is almost as if the system is rigged to rip us all off while telling us it is our fault and we buy it hook, line, and sinker? The sad fact is we do let them get away with it because we do think it is our fault. Irreni World Scale manages bad reasoning. Some people may naively think that ignorance of something like finances is the only cause. Not at all. I know people with degrees in Math who buy lottery tickets. When I ask them if they know they are just throwing away money they say yes. On a more personal level I know I should be exercising but I don't. This solution presented is how to think about the current national turmoil about NFL players taking the knee during the playing of the national anthem. No one can disrespect anyone unless someone lets them. That's worth repeating: No one can disrespect anyone unless someone lets them. What is the correct morality with respect to this national outrage? What is good? The Good: No one can disrespect anyone unless someone lets them. The Evil: Anything else. How To Scale, 101

Hi! Happy Wednesday! Yesterday I blogged about applying Silicon Valley know-how to politics,  how under the covers of Irreni World Scale lie the principles Silicon Valley computing. Specifically I went on about the process of innovation being agile. Agile is defined to be a constant back-and-forth of top-down versus bottom-up design approaches called iterations. We can think of these top-down versus bottom up iterations as a revolution, a revolution of a wheel of design  where top and bottom of the wheel represent top-down vs. bottom-up design perspectives respectively. The new form of 21st Century revolution then is innovation brought on by each revolution of the design. I then made the statement that if there were only one thing to learn from Irreni World Scale it is this: that politics today needs new bottom-up systems for people to make decisions for themselves. Hi! Happy Friday! The US and the World governments have an intelligentsia problem that has long been predicted so often that it is a trope in speculative science fiction. What has gotten lost amidst all of the demagoguery,  sensationalism, click-bait hate and histrionics that is Donald Trump has been Trump's complete and total incompetence. The odds of Trump succeeding at being President are exactly the same as the Infinite Monkey Theorem : The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare. Or, as John Oliver stated, the odds of Trump being successful are the same as a wombat successfully piloting an airplane. There is a lot of punditry that could splayed here. Kavanaugh Debrief Hi! Happy Tuesday! Who should you believe: Kavanaugh or Ford?  I don't know. One of my throw-away lines with respect to atheism is that religion is for people who cannot accept "I don't know" as an answer. I could brag that a religious inability to accept "I don't know" is due to a lack of humility. But that's not the case. The reason people cannot accept "I don't know" is that "I don't know" is unsatisfying, it doesn't satisfy to provide ground for traction to move forward in life. But that's not true. I don't know is an actionable and tractable answer, and so I give to you this debrief. For example, in science a hypothesis starts with "I don't know" as the only actionable answer to the initial hypothesis. The answer is only known after an experiment is run and results analyzed.
