Cure Meet Disease

Happy Monday!

The power of I don't know and the cure is worse than the disease.

This morning making my news rounds I'm seeing an uptick in the cure being worse than the disease. Specifically the economy shut down will kill more people than the virus. Expect a lot more of this in days to come. I want to recommend to you the power of I don't know. Just because you feel a compelling need for resolution doesn't mean you should pick one. This is the power of I don't know.

Economic second guessing is going to become the new armchair quarterback's favorite pastime. And rightfully so. We are seeing first-hand that the only response to disaster chaos is preparation. Our governments worldwide were not prepared. In my mind an approval rating poll of emergency response is meaningless. The hysteria response due to a lack of preparation is a better indicator of confidence. Irreni World Scale is a statement that we technologists have been irresponsible. We have not been applying our smarts to public good. Reliable voting machines which do nothing more than count do not exist. Further, for all the AI hype of AI running the world today there is not one single public discussion about supercomputer pandemic simulations because none exist. That's criminal in my mind. Criminal negligence by the AI community and tech. Because of this void people are now running simulations in their head. Trust me, your ability to run simulations is abysmal compared to computing.

Don't fall into a trap created by a void of solutions. This is the power of I don't know. You avoid these traps.

Religion has always taken advantage of or human nature predisposing us to be unhappy with I don't know. As a consequence today of us not having years of pandemic AI simulations to guide us through this time then religion is going to fill the the solution void as it always has. So will conspiracy theorists and now economic armchair quarterbacks. I don't know. What I do know is we were not prepared and the so called adults leading us are the worst possible thinkers. We are fucked. Glomming on to false hope or easing your mind with false solutions will have their own fallout and is not helping. Stay calm. Stay open to better solutions when they do become available. You can't do that if your mind has settled on a conspiracy theory or religious prophecy.

I admit that I'm naturally so inclined. I read the Bible and lived in Christian culture but jumped to an I don't know conclusion as a child. It's easy for me to recommend and do. This is why I'm outspoken about our lack of preparedness. It's too late now. Our Titanic is sinking and admitting we are out of control is hard. We just have to deal with what's in front of us and do the best we can. We also need to admit that a broken system cannot fix itself. Washington DC is broken. Technology has failed society with social engineering. We can't build a voting machine but are gearing up for Mars. Irreni World Scale is required new government that focuses tech on politics first. In the mean time practice I don't know.
