Trump vs Tradtional Politics

Hi! Happy Sunday!

Mmmm, yesterday I posited that the Trump Phenomena is a culmination of the disastrous deregulation of that started in 1980s and has continued unabated ever since. Trump is a direct result of news as profit, click bait. If we want to prevent future Trumps from making it to the national political stage I proposed a solution based on tradition; repeal media de-regulation and reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, etc. such that news is no longer a for profit endeavor.

I defended this proposal by stating that in lieu of "sciencing the shit out of it" then falling back on tradition that works is viable. Go back to where we were.

Could that work? Ha! First of all, the conservative media is full-on denial that they represent hate speech. The minute conservative media is called out for hating Obama, hating liberals and calling their fellow liberal Americans traitors then conservative apologists hide behind the first amendment.

So no, it will not work.

The reason it will not work is a moral failure. The immoral haters refuse to admit their hatred is immoral.

Enter stage right Donald Trump.

Trump represents Hyper-morality where hyper-morality is expressing all morals. Trump says the Mexicans coming into this country are the very worst, rapists. Trump then says Mexicans love him. And so it goes.

What is going on here is that we are no longer a country because quite simply we have grown too large and technology exposes what was previously hidden.

The President of the United States is suppose to represent all of us. But how can they? There are 300 million of us. We are deeply divided morally on every moral issues. We need to admit we are no longer the United States of America.

Moral Issues:

  1. Abortion
  2. Guns
  3. Climate Change
  4. Health Care
  5. War
  6. Education
If we the people of the United States cannot agree on a common set of morals then can we truly consider ourselves a country? Republicans have a very simplistic view on common morality: we are a Christian Nation and Christian morals should be our common code. Conservatives are right about one thing: a nation requires a common set of moral codes. Conservatives are wrong that 300 million American humans can pursue life, liberty and happiness with objective morals. Religion only scales to tribes, not millions.

One yuge problem with the simplistic "Christian Nation" common moral code is that we quite literally "scienced the shit out it". Christianity is full of moral crap, otherwise known as immorality.  Gay marriage being the most recent example. Slavery the most egregious example. Interracial marriage. Pro-life. The list of Christian immorality is as endless as it is oppressive and tyrannical.

So now what? Should we attempt to find a new common moral code to call America?

No. Why? Because it is not possible. All morality is relative. A common morality requires objective morality. Objective morality doesn't exist. If you look back at the Moral Issues listed above just realize that it is Christians who are on opposite moral sides of all the great moral issues. Christians have no common code, no objective morality.

The concept of nation is built upon a common credo, a common ethos and a common objective morality. All of which breaks down in the face of instant global communication where all illusions about objective morality can be instantly dispelled.

This is why religion is dying: moral relativity is percolating up between the cracks of enforced, low tech, low communication, oppressive, hateful moral objectivity.

So we need a new ways and methods of social groups organizing. The old ways of nations and governments were a house of cards built on a deception of moral absolutism and party line: neither of which are relevant today.

So now what? We need Irreni World Scale, of course. Irreni is a platform to build platforms. Irreni is a constitution for new constitutions. Irreni admits,  promotes and refines moral relativism.

And so does Trump, inadvertently. Trump is unaware of the role he is playing.  Trump is an unwitting fool who has no idea or no self-awareness as to what is really going down. By espousing he donates to both Liberals and Conservatives because he is a "business man" then Trump is espousing what "business men" have known forever, morality is relative. Real governance is morally relative.

Trump versus traditional politics is new politics of promoting moral relativism versus old politics of nation and moral objectivity.

Of course, moral relativism within the same person is not healthy. However, Trump doesn't represent a party line, a coherent morality. People are relating to that. People are starting to wake up to the need for new politics that exposes moral relativity and comes to terms with it.

Irreni World Scale promotes moral relativity by setting up boundaries and rules for moral relativity to thrive and all people to experience opportunity with the least oppression and tyranny possible for those of opposing morality. That is why  Irreni is a framework framework. Irreni sets up a legal system for moral relativity.

Trump versus traditional politics is just the burgeoning of an awakening of the need for a page one rewrite of social groups in the information age.

Irreni Solutions vs Trump Phenomena

Hi! Happy Saturday!

News for profit has finally taken its toll on culture.

Much is being made these days about Donald Trump. Why is he even a thing? Calling Mexicans rapists should have been a gaff that easily should dismissed him from serious political serious consideration back in June?

The problem is that we can't "science the shit out it" as Matt Damon did in the movie, "The Martian." The gap between reason and science is the unknown. Reason is required when science falls short. Reason is collection of assumptions,  observations, correlation, existing science, logic, analysis and speculation.

Irreni World Scale is about solutions. So let's do that.

Trump Phenomena Irreni Solution

Everyone analysing the Trump phenomena is using reason founded on very little science. That is because the science of culture is poorly understood. All reasons being given today as to why the public is enamored with Trump are based on little, if any, science.

The solution is to recognize that all of that rationalizing about the Trump phenomena is far more speculation than fact, more guessing than science.

Therefore, the Irreni World Scale solution to the Trump phenomena is a conservative one: to use tradition.

The Irreni solution is that tradition should be used in lieu of any proven science.
  1. Specifically the tradition of treating news as a loss center and not a profit center is a tradition we should return too.
  2. In addition the fairness doctrine should be re-established.
  3. Finally, the Telecommunications Act that deregulated ownership of media outlets needs to be repealed and this country needs to go back to any one company only being able to own at most three media outlets in an media market.

Trump Phenomena Irreni Discussion

No political solution put forward today is is anywhere near as progressive as Irreni. The Irreni platform is intended not only to put politics today on a level footing with today's technological advancements, but is also meant to scale in time, to scale in size to the entire world population indefinitely into the future.

No one is making that political claim except Irreni.

So why would the most progressive platform recommend tradition?

Tradition's Role Explained

Why does tradition matter?

Tradition is trial-and-error of finding known paths that work. They will not work for all, they may not even work for most, but traditions work well enough for the human species to survive.

Tradition since the dawn of man has been about finding a good path. A single path. A known path of social morals and understandings that are proven to enable us to survive. Tradition is not about truth, but survival based on trial-and-error.

Then science came along a few hundred years ago. And when it did science started illuminating paths unknown. Once the unknown is known then multiple paths are exposed where tradition has only one response.

Gay marriage is one such case of science undermining tradition. Gay marriage was disparaged because the one known path was one-man and one-woman defines marriage. But then science comes along and says in fact gay parents are no different than non-gay parents. Children raised by gay parents are no different than children raised by non-gay parents. Science says that being gay is determined early in life and not communicable. Science says we don't have to worry about everyone becoming gay, leaving no humans left to breed.

In computer science we liken this avoiding bad paths as opposed to using one positive path as choosing a black list versus a white list respectively.

I co-own a company and I'm responsible for the cyber security. In cyber security one necessarily needs to decide: do I use a white list or a black list for security?

A white list example would be adding IP addresses to a firewall white list that only allows known known IP addresses to log into servers as a system administrator. This makes sense because managing the white list is easy enough to do for a two-man company like The GMU. The set of addresses managed in the white list is small, less than twenty.

A black list example would be a corporate web proxy. Most corporations use a black list for cyber-security of web proxies. Why? Because the number of web sites people use from behind a corporate firewall is large,  unknown and changes minute-by-minute. Therefore the only practical solution for a web proxy is to use a blacklist of known bad web sites. You can buy these black lists off the web itself and update daily.

Science enacted as public policy can be thought of science providing confidence avoiding bad paths rather than relying on one path.

For example drinking water, aka tap water, is scientifically treated and tested. Not every bad thing that is in the water is known, but scientists are confident we know enough that the tap water is safe to drink for the most part. Our very lives every day depend on science understanding the bad paths in the water supply well enough that we have freedom to drink tap water anywhere in the country. We depend on this science every day.

Drinking water is called potable water. What happened in Flint Michigan? Was Flint Michigan a case of failed potable water? Well, we already know the answer. The toxic lead levels were covered up as well as was the Legionnaire’s disease cases. It wasn't until an citizen hired an independent lab did the cover-up become exposed. Flint was a failure of politics, not science.

Science has given us so much freedom to fly safely, drive safely, drink water safely and so on that it is hard to imagine possibly why tradition plays a role today.

But tradition does. Tradition still has a role. There are huge gaps in our scientific understanding. One of those gaps is in the science of human cultures. We have very little actionable science when it comes to managing millions of people.

Which brings us to Trump and the Trump phenomena. What to do? Hand wringing will do for a spell. But we need to take action? But what action? Science is mostly silent.

So, revert to tradition. Tradition represents known paths. And the known path in this case is for news. News that existed prior to Ronald Reagan and deregulation. The 1980s are going to go down in history as one of the most destructive American eras of politics. And that destruction may very well cost us this country.

The 1980s can be simply described as short-sighted political gains. The Savings and Loan bubble, the Dot Com bubble, the Real Estate Bubble and the Banking bubble all can be traced back to the deregulation that was started in 1980s under Ronald Reagan. And we can't blame Reagan. Reagan himself was too much the dullard to understand even a smidgen of what was going on. Democrats and Republicans alike have been feeding at the trough of short-term gains since 1980.

Trump Phenomena Irreni Solution Explained

In the face of little science we can fall back on tradition, however crappy,  if the past is better. Trump would have never succeeded in the 1970s.

Tradition says we re-regulate the news, we re-regulate telecommunication and media industries back the way they were. Science says that cultural shifts take multiple-generations that the hate culture of today will take time to unwind.

I have no more science claiming AM hate radio is to blame than any other pundit espousing reasons behind the Trump phenomena. However, I am different in proposing a solution. As stated above, my own opinion is that news for profit has poisoned the American political well. No lie or truth has any value today unless that news sells: click bait.

My own opinion is that after the Fairness doctrine was repealed conservative media drove straight by the "Liberal Bias" road sign and went right straight to Hell via the "Conservative Hate" road sign.

Conservative media of all brands, makes and models calls liberals "unpatriotic" and use other hate speech. The vitriol of conservative media is so thick it can't even be cut with a knife. One needs a chain saw. Right-wing media hates. And conservative media hates with a passion.

Personally I have always been a split voter, one part liberal and one part conservative. However, it has become impossible over these last forty years to find any untainted conservative media where William F. Buckely Jr. started "The National Review" in 1949. Today, sadly, "The National Review" is a hate cesspool.

There is no doubt that national media before the time of the Fairness Doctrine's repeal had a liberal bias. But bias is not hate. The right-wingers hate Obama and they hate liberals.

Well, guess what. That hate rooster has come home to roost. And his name is Donald Trump.

While it is true that we have little actionable science with respect to culture, we do have some. One thing we do know is that changing cultural is a long game, multi-generational. Conservatives do not get this. This is why conservatives have no empathy for minority communities. Conservatives erroneously believe that culture has no long term duration on minority communities. However, Conservatives do believe this is a Christian Country and the this culture has a long-term duration in this one regard. Conservatives are complete hypocrites when it comes to culture's long term impact.

So, where do we find ourselves today? We've had a couple of generations of conservative hate media and now we are seeing the fruits of that labor: Donald Trump.

Trump Phenomena Irreni Solution, Once More With Feeling

In the previous section I offered some reasons as to why the Trump phenomena exists. However, my reasons are no less suspect than those offered by any other pundit out there. Why? Because the science of culture is little-to-non-existent. In the face of limited science then we rely on reason for understanding. Reason that is easily skewed by one's bias.

However, having said my reasons are no more scientifically accurate than any other persons, the solution is. The solution is to fall back on tradition.

Conservatives have proven they cannot be responsible with media. It is time to take their toys away from them. No more hate speech. No more owning more than three media outlets in a market. Back to the fairness doctrine. Back to news being a loss center and not for profit. Back to liberal bias journalism.

Irreni Solutions vs. Politically Correct

Hi! Happy Thursday!

"These days offending someone with comedy is as easy as telling a joke, any joke."
-Ricky Gervais

Have we become too PC, too politically correct?

While I could do a deep dive into the human nature aspects of political correctness, the empathy involved. That's not this post.

No, this post is about the COx Principle. The COx Principle is one of Irreni World Scale's, Big Fancy Pants ideas:

COx Principle of Human Quality.

Contradictory Oxygen principle is an allusion to an expression oft uttered where someone sucks all of the "oxygen" out of the room by talking over everyone else. In this case of COx I am referring to the dead stealing all of the oxygen from the living. Of course the dead do not breathe and ergo the contradictory oxygen principle. This principle states that no generation of living folk can obligate the next generation of folk after passing on...especially to the point to where someone is born into a completely proscribed, planned and obligated situation brought about by the dead. This is tyranny of the dead for the living. We are building out planet Earth materially, legally and culturally and that should not presume any obligation on the living because of what was built in the past.

Every generation starts out supplanting previous generation culture. Kids come up with their own language, listen to new generation pop music, different ways of dressing, etc.

Eventually kids grow up to be adults. Then what? Right now the "then what" is the current millennial generation making a mark of their own in the from of political correctness. This is their foothold in the our American conscience, our American legal system. These new Millennials even have a new name: social justice warriors [SJW]. The question is this: is their movement more about actually having just a movement or is the movement about the objective, political correctness?

Imagine you are born into a world that is cradle-to-grave is established; shelter, food, music, holidays, laws, countries, religions...everything.

On one-hand technology disruption to culture and laws are the domain of the Millennials. On the other hand, country borders on planet Earth are so established since 1960s that the UN identified civil war as the primary cause of death-by-war in the last half of the last century.

Every day more laws are passed and more houses are built. Every day every newborn is boxed in by decisions made by the dead and not the living. Every day we are building out the Earth, a structure new generations are proscribed to live with crade-to-grave. This is tyranny of the human spirit of the highest order.

Political Correctness is one domain the new adults are carving out as their own domain.

Irreni World Scale is about solutions. Let's do this.

Problem:

New generations are getting boxed in ever more, every day by decisions made by the dead.

As such, political movements of new generations such as with today's political correctness are going to tend to ridiculous, extreme and ludicrous compared to previous generations because it is easier to establish new political ground, even ridiculous, then to replace that already established. Plus, each generation wants to claim that which is their own and replacing existing policy is not as original as new ground.

Solution:

Move away from "a nation of laws" to a "world of people".  Tradition is the enemy in the 21st Century. And so is religion.

Discussion:

Previously I have written a few blog posts on today's legal system being too slow to adapt to the rapid-fire daily cultural changes brought about by burgeoning technology.

The COx Principle of Human Quality is another reason today's legal system is too slow. Each generation needs to own the governance of the every decision required for managing people. Part of the ownership is authorship, originality. Just marching to the orders of previous generations, administering the laws of previous generations is a tyranny of the imagination and human spirit.

Every religion is evil for the same reason: they violate the COx principle of Human Quality. The dead have no hold over the living. In this I am a Jeffersonian Democrat through-and-through.

Our notion of laws need to become infinitely more fluid and mutable. This will solve two problems: meeting the demand of rapid changing technology and meet the quality of life required for every person to realize their life's potential.

Tradition is the enemy in the 21st Century. And so is religion. And so is a legal system  that is nigh impossible to amend a constitution also an enemy, where the constitution should be amended as rapidly as required by the technological advances that is governed by it.

Each generation of children should have the same freedom of self-determination as every generation that came before it: this is the COx principle of Human Quality. The dead hold no sway over the living.

Irreni Solutions vs. Marco Rubio

Hi! Happy Tuesday!

Solution:

Eschew ideology. Eschew party purity.

Problem:

Rubio in the last Republican debate thanked God that Bush was in charge during 9/11 and not Al Gore. However, the better analysis is to express regret, a regret that John McCain didn't beat George Bush in the Republican primary.

Discussion:

How are you? Irreni World Scale is about solutions not political punditry but occasionally I like to mix the two.

There was a Republican Presidential Debate on Sunday where this following occurred:

Bush also got a boost from Rubio who said during the debate, "I thank God it was George W Bush in the White House on 9/11, not Al Gore." It should also be noted this was one of the most applauded lines of the night.

Rubio got it wrong. Rubio should have been sorry it was George W Bush in the White House and not John McCain.

Rubio's comment was a response to Trump. Donald Trump called George W. Bush a liar about Iraq's weapon of mass destructions. Trump also impugned Bush's leadership by asserting 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. Or to use Trump's phrasing, Bush's reign.

What is interesting about Trump is that Trump is tacking left already. Trump must feel he already has the Republican nomination in the bag. He is already appealing to centrist Democrats by praising Planned Parenthood for everything except abortion and phrasing "Bush's reign", a nod to liberals who felt Bush acted more like a King than a President. Why start praising Planned Parenthood now? Wailing on G.W. now? Because he is tacking center.

Trump has the right of it. Trump is just taking a page out of Reagan's play book of inclusive politics, but with Yuge strategic differences. First, Reagan said to never speak ill of a fellow Republican. That is not Trump's idea of inclusiveness. That's because Trump is not a party guy. No, Trump's strategy is more along the idea of Reagan Democrats. Trump is appealing to moderates, or Reagan Democrats. Trump has zero interest in appealing to party purity, party ideology and the Republican establishment.

I started voting in 1980, when I turned age eighteen. Like most young kids I had no interest in politics. I don't remember who I voted for in 1980. By 1988 I was following politics and I registered "Independent" not understanding that "Independent" meant the "Independent party". Since then I changed my party affiliation to "non-partisan" and have been "non-partisan" ever since, except once in 1999. This is that story when I registered Republican to vote for John McCain in the primary.

Clinton was a disaster as a President. He repealed Glass-Steagel, he deregulated telecommunications paving the way for Viacom and large media comglomerates. Clinton approved of NAFTA. There was no way I was going to vote for Clinton-lite: Al Gore.

So I became very interested in the Republican Primary. Eventually I came to realize that George Bush was a clear-and-present danger to this country because of his wilful naivety and lack of curiosity. For example, Bush had a standing order as Governor of Texas of there to be no memo on his desk longer than one page; i.e. wilful ignorance.  Just on this one dimension Bush was an  danger to a democracy; not because of failed ideology but disinterest dysfunction. His contender was John McCain. McCain was pragmatic Republican who had no track record of ideological purity. He also had first-hand military experience that would prevent the war naivety that Bush eventually showed calling himself the "war president". Only people with something to prove would exclaim "war president".

I honestly believe that if McCain had been President and not Bush after 9/11 the Republican party would be much better off today, and so would America. First, McCain would have never approved of torture. Second, McCain had no incentive to go into Iraq and would have focused solely on Afghanistan. The mess in the middle-east today has exactly one root cause: Bush invading Iraq and overthrowing Saddam. The result of overthrowing Saddam was made clear in the very words of George H. W. Bush in his book, "A World Transformed", where Bush wrote overthrowing Saddam would have been "opening the gates of hell". And opened the gates of hell we did in the second gulf war. Bush did that, McCain wouldn't have.

The problem with Rubio is that he doesn't have enough political will or interest to be his own man and will carry the establishment's water without fail.

But we don't have too. We can eschew ideology, eschew party purity and compare Republicans to Republicans, Democrats to Democrats. We can have a wider debate.

Eschew ideology. Eschew party purity.
