I Don't Know Power

Image
Happy Tuesday! I Don't Know Power I don't know is the slayer of false hope. I am at ease during this pandemic because I have lived my entire life getting to know I don't know. Do you have regrets? Perhaps in a crisis many of us reflect on what we could've done better and land on some conclusion of regret. I am not religious. I am anti-theist. However, I have studied Eastern philosophy associated with Eastern religions and find the harmony oriented morality far superior to the transformation morality of western religions. Regret, jealousy and other negative emotions in Eastern philosophy are taught to have no positive use and so we train ourselves to overcome them. If I had one regret though it could be this: I have not been outspoken enough about the power of I don't know slaying false hope like that of miracle cures. I don't know also dampens panic where I do not emotionally invest in information, rather I accept it without emotion. I don

New Government - What's Needed For Future Pandemics

Happy Sunday! New Government - What's Needed For Future Pandemics This essay starts with an assumption. That assumption is that existing government is failed and cannot be fixed. Therefore we need new government. You want new government. We are going to have a couple of paragraphs of political discussion and then take a trip into the future. Existing government fails pandemics because of the petty egos of leadership. Existing government fails because a complex world needs to be run intelligently and our leaders are of average or below average intelligence. In fact one could argue as Irreni World Scale does that the time for individual leadership is over. No one person is intelligent enough to design and build a nuclear weapon. No one person is intelligent enough to understand the biological ramifications of deciding when to use one one either. Who really understands radiation? Leadership requires many people today to lead a complex world and yet our governments funnel f

Cruelty Addiction Solution

Image
Happy Sunday! Cruelty Addiction Solution My pandemic help today comes as a solution to American's addiction to cruelty. America has a recent cruelty addiction problem. An end result is Trump instructed his pandemic response team to be cruel and withhold aid to millions of people in Michigan and New York because their leadership did not bow down and kiss Trump's ring. Trump's cruelty is the point. Trump's cruelty provides a high to his supporters. They are addicted. People are dying of our cruelty addiction because millions are not getting aid. Trump's bully opinion is, "cruelty ought to teach them a lesson." His supporters agree. America has a cruelty addiction. Trump is a textbook bully. There is nothing about Trump's bully behavior that is remotely interesting or original. He's a talent-less hack. The problem isn't Trump. The problem is Trump's voters. His voters enjoy the cruelty. For them cruelty is the point. Drinking li

Coronavirus Psychology Perspective

Image
Zappy Friday! Coronavirus Psychology Perspective My help today in this time of pandemic is to educate about proper psychology perspective in a time of panic and uncertainty. We all might be questioning our own sanity from being in new isolation. We all might be questioning our governing sanity in times of new governing actions. How should we think about these things? Well I'm going to start us from a birds-eye view of say an American football game already in progress as if you are a fan who is a also a quarterback. You are the quarterback of your own life and you are specifically trying to gain perspective of new psychological patterns. At the birds-eye view then you are the quarterback of a team not on the field. Next we will fly closer to the field and take a look. Finally we land and take over as the quarterback and look at things as they are on the ground. I'm first going to take a psychological perspective that is my own, personal view. Facts. I am going t

Pandemics & Large Scale Projects

Image
Happy Tuesday! Large Scale Projects My help today in this time of pandemic is to educate about large scale projects. An pandemic response is a large scale project. The US government with three-hundred million people is a large scale project. How should we think about these things? Immediate life-and-death trade-offs are needed in a pandemic. Ongoing life-and-death trade-offs are ever present in governing. My favorite thought exercise for life-and-death scenarios is life-boat ethics.  Life boat  ethics is a thought experiment similar to the now popular trolley car experiment. I don't like the trolley car version because only one person is involved. In a life boat there only enough resources for say one person on the life boat and then three people involved need to come to a decision where in the trolley scenario only a single person is making the decision. Having multiple people discuss the decision is our pandemic reality today. Plus with life-boat ethics you get jok
